Vote PAUL M. JONES for Dickson County School Board, District 1, on March 5, 2024.

Platform

Resist, reject, and expel wokism in all its forms:

Strive for first-class academic and vocational education.

Encourage school choice options -- children belong to their parents, not the State.

Improve transparency and information-sharing by the administration and the board.

Background

My family moved to Dickson TN from Williamsburg IA in 1985 when I was 15. I graduated from DCHS in 1988. Shortly thereafter, I enlisted in the US Air Force as an Operations Intelligence Specialist in 1990, and deployed twice to Saudi Arabia as part of the Gulf War in 1990/1991. I later deployed to Egypt and Somalia.

After leaving active duty as a decorated war veteran in 1996, I attended and graduated from the University of Memphis in 2001, where I earned a BBA in Management Information Systems (magna cum laude).

In 2011 I moved to Nashville, where I met the woman who would become my wife: Anna (DCHS class of 1993), the younger daughter of Jeff and Anne Carr. We live in Burns with 12 chickens, 6 cats, 2 children, and a dog (Bob Barker).

Our children attend Stuart-Burns Elementary; our son is in second grade, and our daughter is in first. We go to Sunday School at First Baptist, and occasionally attend services at Mt Lebanon Methodist, where my father preaches.

I am employed as a computer programmer, and am lucky enough to be able to work from home.
